Forum For Democracy & Communal Amity (FDCA)
The FDCA was founded in 1993, with the esteemed Late Justice V.M. Tarkunde serving as its first president. Currently, the organization is headed by Professor Muchkund Dubey, who is a former Indian Foreign Secretary and Ambassador. Rooted in the values of Equality, Liberty, Justice, and Freedom, FDCA strives to counteract communal forces, raise awareness of constitutional values, and nurture a spirit of tolerance and coexistence among citizens.
The Current Scenario of India
India, celebrating seven decades of independence, aspires to be a multicultural republic rooted in Equality, Liberty, Fraternity, and Justice. However, the dream of a true welfare state faces challenges. Political and social shifts are eroding democratic values, weakening institutions, and fostering hate and division.
Targeted attacks on marginalized communities are becoming normalized, fueled by opportunistic politics. The trust deficit between people and political parties is widening, and mainstream media’s credibility is at stake. Economic hurdles and societal issues compound the challenges, impacting social harmony. FDCA stands against these trends, advocating for justice, equality, and a return to constitutional values.
